Consignment
Evermore Books is happy to support local authors (based in Ottawa or in Eastern Ontario) publishing romance novels.
Due to a high volume of interest, we ask that all interested authors read the consignment policy below before submitting an application.
Consignment Policy
Authors must complete the consignment application and meet the following criteria (please submit one application for each title):
- The book must have an ISBN
- The book must be professionally printed and bound (spiral binding is not eligible)
- The book title and author must be printed on the cover and spine
- The book must be professionally edited
- Books must be competitively priced and not sold for a lower price elsewhere
- Authors must include Evermore Books where other retailers are listed on their website and/or social media.
Evermore Books will accept up to 3 copies of your book.
Books will be shelved in the relevant sections of the store. The book may also be listed on Evermore Books' website, and may be promoted on social media at the discretion of Evermore Books.
Books with an established cover price will be sold at that price, provided the book is priced competitively. Books without an established price will be priced as agreed to by the author and Evermore Books. The author must not allow the book to be sold at a lower price elsewhere.
The consignment term is three months, beginning the first day of the month following the approval of your application and ending the final day of the third month following approval of your application. At the end of the consignment term, Evermore Books will distribute 60% of the sales revenue of the book to the author via Interac E-transfer. The remaining 40% of the sales revenue of the book is retained by Evermore Books, consistent with industry standards.
Unsold books must be picked up within 30 days of the end of the consignment period. After 30 days, unsold books may be donated at the discretion of Evermore Books.
While your book will be treated with the same care as all of our books, and every effort will be made to prevent loss, Evermore Books will not be responsible for lost or damaged books.
We do not review consignment applications during the months of November and December, as these are our busiest months.
All deliveries must be made on a weekday.
